(2) Two pumps in one. The Model SE 1/2-A Sandpiper® performs two separate pumping jobs at once and is ideal for transferring up to a few gallons per minute of liquids such as ink, glues, or others. For example: the SE 1/2-A can pump from a source to a "use" point with one side, and then return the excess back to the source with the other side. In such applications, the return side pumps less than the delivery side. At times, it may run dry. But unlike other pumps, running dry doesn't harm the Sandpiper® nor affect its operation. Because it is self-priming, the return side resumes pumping liquid whenever necessary. If either discharge line becomes clogged - or is closed with a valve - the pump stops immediately, without harm. ...
